Aquatics

Amphiprion clarkii.

(Clark's Clown Fish)

Cassiopeia sp and Abudefduf cyaneus

(Upside-Down Jelly fish and a pair of Blue Devil Damselfish in the background).

Echidna nebulosa.

(Snowflake Moray Eel).

(Hermit crabs).

Hippocampus sp.

(Common Sea Horse). One of a pair I had. Like most seahorses kept in captivity at that time they led fairly short lives. Fortunately information about care is much much better now and Sea-horses are now often bred in captivity.

Abudefduf cyaneus

(Blue Devil Damselfish)

(Marine Aquarium)

(Marine Aquarium)

Octopus vulgaris.

(Common Octopus). I kept this Octopus for about 9 months before it committed suicide by climbing out of a tiny gap in the tank lid on Chrismas day morning.

Octopus vulgaris.

Octopus vulgaris.

Plotosus lineatus.

(Stripped Marine Catfish). Shortly after this picture was taken I had to find a new home for these as they suddenly began to attack each other and all the other occupants. I discovered a while later that they would have spawned if left a while longer as an article appeared in an aquarium magazine discribing the first reported breeding of this species. Typical.

Herotilapia multispinosa.

(Rainbow Cichlid)

Stenopus hispidus.

(Banded Cleaner Shrimp)

Colisa lalia.

(Neon Dwarf Gourami).

Julidochromis marlieri.

(Checkered or Marlier's Julie)

Gnatonemus petersii.

(Peter's Elephant nose).

Pelvicachromis pulcher.

(Kribensis)

Pygocentrus (Serrasalmus) nattereri.

(Red-Bellied Piranha). We started off with 6 very small youngsters.

Pygocentrus (Serrasalmus) nattereri.

As is usual with these though we ended up with just one large well fed specimen.
